About Me!

My name’s Ashley, but you call me Echo! I’m 21 years old and I’m located in the south of the midwest in the United States!

I love to create stories and digital-media whenever the opportunity strikes! I’ve been a creator all my life with the love to always learn new things. I have four+ years of social media and video editing experience. I’ve been using Adobe Creative Studios for around three years and I have an Associates in Art Degree from Illinois Central College.

Here’s What I do!

Filmmaking is always something I love to see and love to create. It’s been the stepping stone to who I am. I really grab onto the stories of my favorite characters and relate them to my own life. I take personality traits and sort of steal them as my own. I take the experiences and help them shape where I go in the same situation. Movies and even tv shows have helped me in so many ways and if I could help someone in the future in the same way with my own work, it’ll be so worth it. The film industry is a tricky business though, but it would be such an amazing opportunity.

I’ve also been a writer all my life. From the moment I could pick up a pencil, really. If one of my stories could be visualized and put on screen, it would by far be the coolest thing. I honestly just hope I’m able to do great things with my craft and I hope to make a good impact, even if it’s just in a small town that I live in. Life is so much more beautiful when you create something. I’ll always be creating something, no matter how big or small.

A huge, huge dream of mine is to be a part of a Marvel production. I take a lot of inspiration from their movies and stories. I, unfortunately, also make being a Marvel fan my entire personality, but these stories really shaped who I am today. Not only the story content, but visuals these stories were always something I found incredibly interesting. It would be so cool to create magic like Wanda or Loki or create lighting like Thor on a visual level. The cinematography is also a component I really love. Moon Knight is definitely one of my favorites, both with how the story plays out and the story components, but also how visually well done it was.

Now, I don’t really know why I love what I do. If I’m being frank, I kind of suck. I have all of these ideas and inspirations and I put them on paper, but it just doesn’t feel right. Like my brain can’t scratch the itch just right. It’s as if I don’t have the right words to pour on the screen; there’s always a need for a little more or way too much was poured leading to a flood of despair. I can never get the visuals just how I want them too. There’s always something in my way. I like to think my imagination is too strong and my abilities are too weak. It makes the most sense. The worlds I create are truly out of this world, but I think that’s what I like about what I do. I don’t ever expect to be perfect, but sometimes that’s all I want to be. I think to truly be a visionary though, it takes patience and the knowledge that imperfections are beautiful too. Maybe that’s why I do what I do. Create the things I create despite the flaws laid seamlessly out for decoration as if to haunt me. Maybe there’s a reason they’re there. Or maybe they’re not there at all. They’re there for me to notice. Despite the flaws that ruin them all I still love my work. I still love to share and create and love the work that I do. And I hope someday, someone will love it too.

Do what you love and enjoy it! Create something that screams you and run with it; you never know where it’ll take you! That’s my biggest motivator!
